The Good Seed Community Garden is a new effort put forth by both our church and the community members of Sharon Woods to unify and celebrate our neighborhood. Although the garden is just beginning to take shape, we hope that in years to come it will flourish and become a great gathering spot for the entire Northland area. 


Garden Update


Thanks again for all the work you've been doing for the garden. As you can see, everything is going really well! Work day was a great success: we even won Best Earth Day video from Green Columbus! The video, if you haven't seen it, is here:

We have created a Facebook Page so we can post announcements. It is listed at "The Good Seed Community Garden". You are welcome to "Become a Fan" even if you don’t have a garden plot. It will keep you updated on what’s going on with the gardens!

Good Seed Community Garden Contract

By signing this contract, you are agreeing to the following: 

  • To be respectful of the set opening and closing times of the garden
  • A responsibility to keep the land allotted to you well-tended.
  • That you will not decorate your plot with any offensive or otherwise inappropriate paraphernalia.
  • The need to respect plots assigned to others.
  • The understanding that all plants grown in the community garden must be legal in the state of Ohio.
  • Respect the church property that is not allotted to the community garden.
  • Use of the communal gathering area for a group activity must be reserved through the Community Garden Board.
  • That you will give a portion of any food stuffs grown in your plot to the Church of the Good Sheppard for a donation to the local food pantry. 

Infractions of these rules can result in the Community Garden reclaiming and reassigning your community plot.
