Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist

Our vision is to live out the presence of Jesus in a diverse and thriving urban neighborhood.

Good Shepherd Youth Group Meetings for January

To help the Good Shepherd Youth gear up to take part in more mission work in 2012, both the middle and high school groups will be exploring a 4 week look at how to make a difference. These four week lessons will help the youth know that they can truly make a difference in this world, despite their own issues, distractions, and problems. The four video driven sessions are “Our Generation” on Sunday 1/15, “Poverty is a Priority” on Sunday 1/22, “Blast the Walls” on Sunday 1/29, and “Do Good Quietly” on Sunday 2/12. All youth group members will need to attend from 5-8 p.m. those four evenings.

YOUTH VALENTINE’S DAY

Tuesday, Feb. 14th, the youth group will be serving dinner for the UMM’s Valentine’s Dinner. The youth need to be at the church no later than 6 p.m. Dress attire will be white shirt and black pants and close toed shoes. Donations will be given to the participating youth’s mission trip account. If you have any questions please see Rob Wagner or Michael Hurd.

SOUP AND SALAD LUNCH WITH DESSERT CONTEST

The high school youth group will provide and host a soup and salad lunch around 12:30 after the Sunday School hour.  Then, after lunch, let the sweet tooth contest begin.  Sign up on the bulletin board to enter your dessert in the “Best of the Best Dessert Contest”. All donations for the lunch and contest will go toward the group mission trip this summer.  If you have questions please see Rob Wagner.

FOURTH ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF

SUNDAY, MARCH 4th in the multi-purpose room

Come and join your fellow congregation members for a good time and help support the high school summer mission trip. You will decide who among the Good Shepherd congregation makes the best chili and give that individual bragging rights as the best chili connoisseur.  Anyone may bring chili.  No signup necessary.
