Who we are

Welcome to Church of the Good Shepherd!

Church of The Good Shepherd United Methodist has been a vital part of the Sharon Woods neighborhood for over 50 years. We began on August 3, 1969 when 88 people gathered at Walden Elementary School in Forest Park East to hold the first service.

We are a LGBTQ+ Affirming congregation and part of the United Methodist Reconciling Ministry Network (rmnetwork.org)

Church of the Good Shepherd partners with our community through ministries to a multiracial and multicultural neighborhood. Our vision is to live out the presence of Jesus in a diverse and thriving urban neighborhood.

Our ministry and outreach are open to all people. We invite you to partner with us through our community Good Seeds Garden, Free Store, partner food pantries, and other special events through out the year.
